Activity is important for your overall health, but it can be hard to include exercise in your daily tasks. Especially if your days take place at a desk! Which is why we decided to attend an Energize workshop, promoting the benefits of activity in organisations.

Creating happier, healthier organisations

The team recently enjoyed a health workshop hosted by Energize Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin – the Shropshire division of the County Sports Partnership. This fantastic organisation provides information for companies, groups and individuals to lead a more active lifestyle.

Through their mission of raising awareness for an active lifestyle, they deliver workshops and courses which companies or individuals can attend.

Here at ATS, we are committed to promoting an active lifestyle. We practice this through sponsoring local sports teams and our work with Sporting Partnerships. It’s for this reason we attended the workshop to further improve our understanding of the importance of staying active as individuals and as a business.

The Energize workshop

We had a fun and informative time and learnt how small changes can make a difference to your day. The course providers were extremely knowledgeable yet friendly.

The workshop session was designed to help employees develop their understanding of how being active can help to lead a happier and healthier life. Which is, of course important for employees, but it also helps customers.

If staff are happy and healthy then that will reflect in their work performance and how they interact with customers.

Implementing changes

We returned to work feeling inspired and motivated to make real change. From adopting healthier habits in the team’s daily tasks to making conscious efforts to be more active. We took on the advice from the Energize team and have witnessed how it has had a positive impact.

Overall staff confidence has improved, as well as motivation and productivity. We would recommend the workshop to Shropshire businesses who are looking to make their company more active. It’s so easy to access this information about the benefits of an active lifestyle.

The Energize workshop also got us thinking about how we can further support local sports, and possible ideas for future projects in our local community.
